Choose the right calculator

These tools are designed for two common questions: how much time has passed between dates, and how do weighted assignments affect a course grade? The notes below explain what each result means before you use it.

Calculate an age between dates

The age calculator accepts a date of birth and a second date. The second date defaults to today, but you can change it to find an age on a past or future date. Results include years, months, and days, as well as totals in days, weeks, hours, minutes, and seconds.

For example, someone born on May 10, 2000 is 25 years and 5 days old on May 15, 2025. The calculator counts completed calendar months; because months have different lengths, its month-and-day result can differ from a simple estimate based on an average month.

Open the age calculator to enter your dates and review its counting method.

Calculate a weighted course grade

The grade calculator combines assignment grades according to their weights. A grade that counts for more of the course contributes more to the result. Enter grades as percentages, letter grades, or points earned out of points possible, and use either percentage weights or point weights consistently.

For example, a score of 90 weighted at 20 and a score of 80 weighted at 30 produce (90 × 20 + 80 × 30) ÷ (20 + 30), or 84%. You can also enter a goal and the weight of the unfinished work to estimate the average needed on that work.

Common questions

Are the calculators free to use?

Yes. Both calculators are available without an account or sign-up.

Why might my result differ from another calculator?

Calculators can use different conventions for partial months, letter-grade cutoffs, or rounding. Read the method on the relevant calculator page and check that your weights and grading scale match your own situation.

Are these calculators a substitute for official records?

No. Use official school records for course grades and confirm important dates with the relevant source. These tools provide estimates based on the values and conventions described on their pages.
